Australia bans bulk carrier for crew underpayment
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) banned the Liberian-flagged bulk carrier TW Hamburg from Australian ports for 12 months, after finding evidence that the crew was underpaid.

Paris MoU informed that the M/V ‘Discover’ was detained in the Port of Dordrecht, the Netherlands, on 27 June 2019. This is the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 24 months. The ship carries the flag of Moldova, which is black on the current Paris MoU WGB list.

After a successful refloating of the Russian bulk carrier ‘Kuzma Minin’ last week off Cornwell, UK MCA Surveyors conducted a PSC Inspection in the early evening of 18 December and confirmed a breach in one of the fuel tanks. Tank readings indicate the tank has filled with water as a consequence of the grounding, however no pollution has been reported.
