Standing Orders of the Special Tripartite Committee
The establishment of the Special Tripartite Committee is necessary to give effect to Article XIII of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
These Standing Orders and the Introductory Note were adopted by the Governing Body at its 313th Session (March 2012) based on a proposal from the Office (GB.313/LILS/3).
Their drafts were discussed in two meetings of the Preparatory Tripartite MLC, 2006, Committee (PTMLC) and the final reports of those meetings are relevant for understanding of the drafting history (PTMLC/2010/4 and GB.313/LILS/INF/1).
