State-owned Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group and power system provider ABB will choose Roxtec EMC to manage the sealing solutions for the new-build of four LNG carriers.
Hudong-Zhonghua and ABB chose the Roxtec EMC sealing system, in order to withstand offshore conditions. Namely, Roxtec cable transits are used for the electric propulsion system and the reliquefaction system. The seals aim to offer protection against fire, smoke, gas, water, dust, dirt, vibration and the risk of explosion with elimination of electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Today, vessels have more advanced equipment in narrow spaces, increasing the risk of EMI generation. In order to ensure a safe operation, the use of EMC is important, Roxtec said.
