Contract with Jackson Offshore Operators, for two OSV
Rolls-Royce has announced that it has secured a comprehensive US$15 million project management and integrated propulsion and control systems package with Jackson Offshore Operators, for two highly advanced offshore support vessels.
The two Guido Perla designed GPA 675J PSVs will be built at BAE System’s shipyard in Jacksonville, Florida and will enter into service in 2014. They will be equipped with an integrated Rolls-Royce propulsion system featuring two Azipull propulsion thrusters, tunnel thrusters and a Low-Voltage Active Front End Diesel Electric Power System.
The scope of supply also includes power and propulsion systems integration – including an advanced Acon automation system, an Icon Dynamic Positioning (DP-2) system and a fully integrated electrical detailed engineering package – and “start-to-finish” project management including on-site advisory services, planning and commissioning.
Said Anders Almestad, Rolls-Royce, President – Offshore: “Working on a project like this with Jackson Offshore is a real privilege for Rolls-Royce as it enables us to clearly demonstrate how we are able to deliver value to customers through early and close engagement when designing and commissioning a highly complex integrated systems package.”
