Pacific International Lines (PIL) is partnering with WaveBL to provide a wider range of electronic Bill of Lading (eBL) solutions.
PIL’s adoption of the eBL solution aims to enhance the ease, security, efficiency, and sustainability of its trade documentation process. The platform allows shippers to use eBL independently of consignees, streamlining shipments. The eBL system simplifies document creation, approval, and tracking, cutting costs and reducing fraud while eliminating paper document risks. Recently, BIMCO presented a scenario involving the loss of paper bills of lading to underscore the critical benefits of adopting eBLs in the shipping industry.
Additionally, PIL’s recent membership in the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) supports its digital transformation goals and operational efficiency improvements. The commitment of the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) and its ocean carrier members to achieve 100% eBL adoption by 2030.
Lionel Chatelet, Chief Commercial Officer, PIL, said, “PIL’s digital initiatives are a means to support our customers and their needs as well improve efficiencies. We remain strongly committed to enhancing human interactions and relationships.
PIL’s commitment to sustainability and digital innovation mirrors WaveBL’s mission to revolutionize global trade through secure and efficient digital solutions. Together, we aim to drive connectivity and redefine industry standards.
