The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Hadiza Bala Usman has supported an African framework aiming to enhance the transport of cargos and the quality of logistics in a more predictable manner.
Hadiza Bala Usman stated that such a Framework should improve the clearance of cargos through efficient logistics in a more profitable manner, in order to remove the obstacles that are affecting trade liberalization.

Ms. Usman stated the above opinion on the African Women in Maritime (WIMAFRICA) on the second continental conference, themed: ‘Trade facilitation in Africa: challenges and prospects’.
Ms. Usman also urged the women to adopt an integrative approach that will eliminate the increasing complexity and cost associated with transaction processes of trade in the continent.
Moreover, she mentioned that trade facilitation is a major driver of economic development and growth of Nations, adding that this will enable Africa to maximize the benefits of it.
We in the continent more than ever before need to redefine our trade processes to ensure simplification of documentation, automation, efficiency, transparency and professionalism; this no doubt will engender ease of doing business

Finally, she called WIMAFRICA to come up with strategic plans that will advance the desired growth and development of the economy of the continent.
