2012 WISTA Personality of the Year
The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) named Kathi Stanzel as its 2012 WISTA Personality of the Year at the meeting of the National WISTA Association Presidents held in Paris on October 3.
A closed panel of industry peers found that Kathi, who took over as INTERTANKO’s Managing Director in July, most exalted the ambassadorial qualities required by this prestigious position. “I am humbled and admittedly surprised by the accolade,” she says.
Last year’s Personality of the Year was Mfon Ekong Usoro, Secretary General of the West and Central Africa Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control (Abuja MoU). In 2010 it was Suzanne Williams, the well-known maritime hostage negotiator; in 2009 Pamela Conover, President and CEO of Seabourn Cruise Line, and in 2008 Rodi Kratsa, the leading Euro politician.
INTERTANKO Chairman Graham Westgarth was among the first to congratulate our Managing Director, calling the award “A real honour”.
