Namely, with the portal Forum of Cargo Owners and Logistics Operators (FOCAL), operators will have direct interaction with shippers and cargo owners. It will also enable responses from the logistics operators against the requirement raised by cargo owners.
Operators can register on the portal to see details of vessels or the available cargo, while cargo owners will be able to add details like the origin, destination ,or type of cargo.
This project is part of India’s attempt to promote its national waterways, improving the the transport model that imposes huge logistics costs on the Indian economy.
