In light of the coronavirus pandemic, Hong Kong’s largest container port “Kwai Tsing Container Terminals” has been involved to approximately 65 COVID-19 positive cases, Bloomberg reported.
The Centre for Health Protection announced that Hong Kong recorded 74 COVID-19 infections, with the hub responsible for nearly half of the region’s cases.
In fact, 34 of the coronavirus cases are linked to Kwai Tsing Container Terminal.
According to the region’s health department infections linked to Kwai Tsing Container Terminals increased by two, bringing the cluster to 65 since the beginning of the pandemic. For the records, Hong Kong’s death toll stood at 69.
Following the above, Hong Kong Container Terminal Operators Association told Bloomberg that the operations at Kwai Tsing are under control and that all necessary actions were being taken in order to minimize the spread of the virus within the port facility.
Overall, speaking of coronavirus cases, 15 Filipino crewmembers were recently found infected by the virus onboard the same vessel in Singapore.
