The Wallem-managed ship, ‘Coral Leader’, provided assistance to the French Coastguard, in the rescue of a crew from a sailing yacht last week. The yacht was in distress in the Mediterranean Sea, just off Corsica.
Namely, on the August 26 the Coral Leader was heading to Tarragona in Spain when the French Coastguard called the ship’s Master for help rescuing a yacht with five persons onboard.

The Coral Leader changed its course to help, and along with a French navy rescue helicopter spotted the yacht shortly after. At that the weather conditions were difficult, and the Coral Leader was asked to remain close to the yacht while the helicopter left the scene to get additional rescue equipment.
When the helicopter returned, all five people were successfully airlifted to safety. The French Coastguard thanked the Master of the Coral Leader, Capt. Monish Nesaraj and his crew for their part in the rescue mission.
