Problems are expected to arise
The employees of Hellenic Petroleum (HELPE) on Thursday 19th May launched a 4-day strike that could potentially disrupt the smooth supply of the market with fuel in the coming days.
Market sources told that problems are expected to arise immediately, given that HELPE controls three of the country’s four refineries – in Aspropyrgos, Elefsina and Thessaloniki – and more than 80% of the local market, the strike will cause fuel shortages.
According to market sources AEGEAN MARINE PETROLEUM, physical supplier in Greece and 16 more stations worldwide is fully loaded with product since the strike was an anticipated move, after the court decision and able to supply all grades providing 24/7 service.
Same thing took place during the past 10-day strike that HELPE had undergone. AEGEAN could cover all needs in the marine fuel market for all contracted customers and spot business as well.
