The Emirates Maritime Arbitration Centre (EMAC) plans to visit maritime stakeholders, during 2018, in order to present its services and enhance confidence in the maritime industry for arbitration and mediation.
The first meeting already happened, at the DP World Head Quarters in Jebel Ali Port. During the meeting, senior executives gathered to learn about how to use EMAC, as a means to resolve maritime disputes.
For 2018 EMAC aims to give incentives to maritime companies to use EMAC’s model clause into their contracts, said Majid Obaid bin Bashir, EMAC Acting Chairman and Secretary General. He also added, that with these meeting, EMAC hopes to improve the maritime industry and contribute the the Emirates’ economy.
The meeting was attended by Majid Obaid bin Bashir and Mohamed Yousef Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of DP World. Both of them highlighted the importance of this attempt in order to improve the maritime sector.
