Chara Georgopoulou

Chara Georgopoulou is Senior Research Engineer II and Head of Maritime DNV R&D and Advisory, Greece. In this position, she works on the mathematical modelling and simulation of marine energy systems and new technologies for greener and smarter maritime transportation. She has several years of experience in model-based analysis of decarbonization technologies, fuel cells and hybrid systems. She has specialized in sustainable transport measures, renewable systems, emission reduction and carbon capture technologies. She has participated in numerous R&D projects in the European industry and has authored more than 30 articles at international journals and conferences. Chara holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (2009) and a Diploma (Bachelor and M.Sc. equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering (2005) from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece.
