Hong Kong Merchant Information Note
Marine Department of Hong Kong issued a Hong Kong Merchant Information Note regarding Amendments to the International Life-Saving Appliance (LSA) Code.
The purpose of this Note is to advise the parties concerned of the amendment to the International Life-Saving Appliance (LSA) Code under MSC.293(87) which will enter into force on 1 January 2012.
1. On 21 May 2010, the Maritime Safety Committee of the International Maritime Organization at its 87th session adopted the resolution MSC.293(87) to amend the LSA Code and the amendment will enter into force on 1 January 2012.
2. The details of the amendment can be found on the website of Marine Department(http://www.mardep.gov.hk/en/msnote/msin.html) as an annex to this Note for easy reference. The parties concerned are required to note the amendment and act accordingly.
