Zero USV, developed through a partnership between Marine AI and MSubs, is introducing the world’s first fully autonomous uncrewed surface vessel (USV) fleet.
As explained, the vessels, named Oceanus12, will feature a dual-electric propulsion system and a hybrid powertrain, integrated with Marine AI’s GuardianAI autonomy software suite. According to the company, Oceanus12 will be a complete autonomous solution ready for use.
The four-ton aluminum monohull operates at a cruising speed of six knots and can reach a sprint speed of 10 knots. With a fuel capacity of 317 gallons, the company anticipates that the Oceanus12 can cover more than 2,000 nautical miles in distance.
There has long been a requirement for proper ‘over the horizon’ capable USVs to fulfil a whole host of roles, but pulling the relevant technologies together has been extremely difficult for vessel operators. Zero USV solves that.
..Matthew Ratsey, Zero USV’s managing director said.
The Oceanus12 is engineered to thrive in challenging conditions, providing adaptable payload options and reducing the risk of human error, according to the company.
