The Office of Naval Intelligence issues Worldwide Threat to Shipping (WTS) Report for the period 09 June 2013 – 10 July 2013.
The Worldwide Threat to Shipping (WTS) message provides information on threats to, and criminal action against, merchant vessels worldwide in the last 30 days. This report is producedprimarily to inform merchant mariners and naval forces. View a summary of the information provided in the WTS Report as follows.
SUMMARY
1. MALAYSIA: On 10 July, an underway tanker was boarded approximately 12 nmnortheast of Pulau Tioman.
2. RED SEA: On 8 July, an underway bulk carrier experienced a suspicious approachapproximately 11 nm southwest of Mocha, Yemen.
3. INDONESIA: On 7 July, an anchored tanker was boarded at the Nipah Anchorage.
4. RED SEA: On 4 July, an underway bulk carrier experienced a suspicious approachapproximately 9 nm west of Halib, Eritrea.
5. INDONESIA: On 4 July, an anchored bulk carrier was boarded at the TaboneoAnchorage.
6. INDIA: On 30 June, an anchored bulk carrier was boarded at the Kandla Inner Anchorage.
7. INDONESIA: On 27 June, an anchored chemical tanker experienced an attemptedboarding at the Jakarta Tanker Anchorage.
