On Monday, a US Coast Guard buoy tender hit the dock, in New Orleans, on the Mississippi River, while carrying the Zulu King and Queen of Mardi Gras and other Zulu royalty for Mardi Gras festivities. The video, published by WWLTV, captures the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for the USCG as quoted by local media noted that all power had cut out as the Pensacola-based Coast Guard cutter ‘USCGC Cypress’ approached the dock.
There were no injuries or pollution as a result form the incident. The extent of damage to the vessel is still unknown.
The incident is under investigation.
