Royal Caribbean International marked the official start of construction by cutting the first piece of steel for its new Quantum Ultra ship, ‘Odyssey of the Seas’, on 1st of February at Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The ship is expected to sail fall 2020 from the US.
Odyssey of the Seas cruise ship is Royal Caribbean’s second Quantum-Ultra class vessel with sister ship ‘Spectrum of the Seas’ (2019). Quantum-Ultra is an upgraded (enlarged and enhanced) version of the Quantum-class ships, Quantum of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas.
In 2018, Royal Caribbean officially launched the ‘Symphony of the Seas’, currently claiming the title of the world’s largest cruise ship.
