Two patrol vessels join the fleet operated by Homeland Integrated Offshore Services in Nigeria, specifically in the Gulf of Guinea in order to protect and boost the offshore assets of Homeland’s clients, among which are major oil companies.
The 33-metre vessels have been constructed with the same characteristics as their previous sister ships. The vessels will be able to accommodate up to six crew and twelve security personnel and they are also able to remain at sea up to 1 month including travelling 1,200nm in and around Nigeria coastal and offshore oil fields.

As for the security role, due to the increased piracy in the area, the vessels have bullet proof and strong ‘citadels’ installed by Damen, and are equipped with decks that allow them to deliver equipment and spares to offshore installations without affecting their security purpose.
Additional equipment specified by HIOSL includes thermal imaging sets, diesel powered SOLAS fast rescue craft and – of particular interest from a bunkering perspective – Fuel Trax fuel monitoring systems as well as redundant fuel oil separators to protect the engines and generators from contaminated fuel.
