To showcase the magnitude of the voyage, after the ship set sail, Maersk launched an official countdown in their website until the vessel docks at Copenhagen, which now shows 57 days and 23 hours.
With this vessel, we have taken an important step in our journey towards net zero emissions. Our hope is to show the way – not only for Maersk but for the entire logistics industry.

The 21,500-kilometer journey from Ulsan, South Korea, to Copenhagen, Denmark, will provide real-world operational experience for Maersk seafarers operating the new engines and utilising methanol as fuel, as the firm prepares to receive a fleet of new, large ocean-going methanol-enabled ships beginning in 2024.
