The reefer trawler Ostrov Sakhalin caught fire while it was undergoing repairs at Preobrazheniye Ship Repair Yard, in the afternoon of Sunday, May 26. The shipyard deployed seven fire engines in order to extinguish the fire.
Local sources report that the fire started in the cargo hold and spread to the living quarters.
Up to now there are no injuries reported. Yet, the fire fighters didn’t extinguish the fire even after midnight of May 26.
Concluding, the Russian-flagged trawler fire, Ostrov Sakhalin is a fishing vessel, built in 18995 and is owned by the Russian fishing company Ostrov Sakhalin Co., Sakhalin.
