One worker suffered minor injures after a conveyor belt collapsed Thursday while involved in loading operations with a bulk carrier, at the Port of Patillos, northern Chile. The moment was captured on the video.
The incident reportedly occurred while the conveyor belt was loading salt on the Maltese-flagged bulk carrier ‘Leonidas’, owned by Greece’s Lavinia Corporation.
An investigation is underway to assess the extent of damages as a result of the incident.
Discussions are underway between the port authority and the conveyor operating company on how to remove debris.
