The containership Tiger Maanshan collided with a gantry crane while mooring at Hai An Port, Vietnam, on 10 August.
The 192-metre vessel was carrying containers from the Philippines to Dinh Vu Port, Vietnam when its bow and part of its cabin hiy the gantry crane pier at the port.
Both the vessel and crane have sustained damage in the crash. Luckily, there have been no reported casualties and navigation has not been affected, but the crane remains inoperable.
Nguyen Anh Vu, Director of the Hai Phong Port Authority, said the ship owner was sued by the Dinh Vu Port Development and Investment JSC after the two parties involved could not agree on compensation after the incident.
Vu said the preliminary cause has been determined as loss of control while on its way to the dock.
