On 24th March 2021, the ro-ro/passenger ship known as “Aqua Hercules”, run aground following a heavy storm in of Iskenderun, Turkey.
According to local media sources, the vessel, which had been anchored for about 8 years due to being confiscated in Iskenderun Bay, could not withstand the severe storm.
As explained, the seized ship with a length of 193 meters and 33 thousand gross tons, was dragged to Payas coast due to the storm.
Thankfully, there were no one onboard at the time of the incident, as the crew abandoned the vessel over unpaid wages several years ago.
Concluding, the vessel was tied up by the company’s creditors back in 2013.
