As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, Virgin Voyages cruise line announced that it is postponing the Miami launch celebration for its first vessel, Scarlet Lady, until a future date is decided.
Specifically, the cruise line took the decision based on the recent news, while emphasized that there is no health concerns onboard.
The ship arrived at Port Miami on March 7 and activities were to take place next week. Yet, given the severity of the situation, the company decided otherwise.
In a statement, Virgin Voyages noted that “While Virgin Voyages has not been affected, we feel that postponing our launch celebration to a future date is the responsible thing to do. We plan to celebrate with you in Miami very soon.”
They also highlighted that there is no concern for health issues onboard.
To remind, Virgin Voyages cancelled another launch ceremony in New York on March 1, after the first case of COVID-19 was confirmed in New York.
