Viking River Cruises informed that it will not allow passengers who are under the age of 18 to book with the company. Namely, Viking said that it does not have its facilities on the ships for passengers under 18, while many guests had noted that they prefer an environment without children.
As Viking’s senior vice president of marketing Richard Marnell mentioned, the company offers experiences mainly for passengers who are 50 and older. In the past it had allowed a flexibility in the age limits, but many passengers said that they prefer an environment where they can travel without children.

Viking updated its age policy, stating that for all Viking river cruises that are booked after August 1, 2018, passengers must be 18 years old. Passengers under the age of 18 may still board a Viking river cruise until the end of 2019 if the cruise was booked before August 1, 2018.
Before this update, Viking did not allow passengers below 12 on its ships, something that, Scenic, Emerald Waterways and Riviera have this age limit as well.
Mr. Marnell noted that this policy aims to ensure consistency across all of its travels that the minimum age for travel is 18.
