Tra Vinh intertidal wind farm (Phase 1), Korea’s wind project, will comprise 24 2MW wind turbines installed offshore the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh. The wind farm covers 1,209 hectares of water surface and 2.14 hectares of land.
The project includes the following construction items: 24 wind turbine foundations with a capacity of 2M per turbine; transformer stations, operation managers, workshops, concrete bridges connecting wind turbines; Interconnection power line to Duyen Hai – Tra Vinh substation.
Moreover, it is alleged that the project will feature Vestas wind turbines and it is expected to be completed by September 2020.

The wind project costed USD 120 million.
The developer is a joint collaboration between Tra Vinh Wind Power, Korea’s Samtan, and the Netherlands-based Climate Investor One.
This is the first of two phases of a planned 144MW intertidal project.
Tra Vinh Wind Power noted in a statement that the project contributes to the regular employment of local workers, contributing to local budgets from VND30 to 40 billion / year (after the expiration of the tax exemption period). This is also a tourist attraction, contributing to the development of tourism in Tra Vinh province after completion.
