The US Coast Guard Sector North Carolina informed that it managed to restore the radio communication capabilities, which had been compromised on Thursday, 3 of May.
Repairs were completed at approximately 4 a.m. on Friday, 4 of May. An HC-130 Hercules airplane was launched on Thursday night to monitor radio communications in the North Carolina Captain of the Port Zone until repairs were completed.

The US Coast Guard Sector North Carolina reported a loss of radio communication capability on Thursday, 3 of May. The Coast Guard could not monitor radio traffic offshore and called mariners to use extreme caution throughout the North Carolina Captain of the Port Zone.
