The US Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued its 42nd BWMS Type Approval Certificate to Chinese manufacturer Wuxi Brightsky Electronic Co., Ltd.
The approval came after a detailed review of the manufacturer’s type approval application determined the system met the requirements of 46 CFR 162.060.
The treatment principle of the Wuxi BSKY BWMS is based on hydrocyclone separation and UV treatment at intake, and UV treatment at discharge. This approval covers 36 models with maximum treatment rated capacities between 80 and 6,000 m3/h.
So far, Knutsen Ballast Water AS, Semb-Eco Pte, Ltd., Miura HK-(E)R, HANLA IMS Co., Ltd., Miura Co., Ltd., Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., COSCO Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd, Alfa Laval Tumba AB, Wärtsilä Water Systems, Ltd., DESMI Ocean Guard A/S (Denmark), Envirocleanse, LLC (USA), De Nora (USA), Panasia (Republic of Korea), JFE Engineering Corporation (Japan), Headway Technology (People’s Republic of China), Alfa Laval (Sweden), Hyundai Heavy Industries (Korea), Wärtsilä Water Systems (England), BIO-UV Group (France) , Samsung Heavy Industries Co (Republic of Korea), Techcross (Republic of Korea), Optimarin (Norway), TeamTec Ocean Saver (Norway), Sunrui (China), Ecochlor (USA), Erma First (Greece), Alfa Laval Tumba, Cathelco Ltd., Miura Co. Ltd., BAWAT A/S, NKBMS Co. Ltd, Techcross, Inc., Kuraray Co., Ltd., oneTank, LLC, Elite Marine, Panasonic Environmental Systems & Engineering Co., Ltd., Alfa Laval Tumba AB, Kurita Water Industries, Ltd. and SKF Marine GmbH have won the USCG type approval.
