The US Coast Guard has initiated a research for a missing vessel, after a distress call on the afternoon hours of Sunday, east of Port Canaveral, Florida.
According to initial information provided by the USCG, the US Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville Command Center watchstanders received a distress call at 4 p.m. from a vessel.
People onboard stated they were caught in a storm and were in need of assistance.
A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew and a Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral 45-foot Response Boat-Medium commenced searching.
A Coast Guard Air Station Miami HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft crew also launched to assist in the search.
