The US Coast Guard Marine Safety Centre issued the 15th Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System type approval certificate to De Nora Balpure for its BALPURE® ballast water treatment system (BWTS).
The BALPURE system has been approved for both safe area and hazardous zone installations for internationally trading vessels including US-Flagged vessels.
WIth BALPURE BWTS, only a 0.5% to 1% of the seawater flow entering the ballast line needs to be channelled into the electrochemical unit. The necessary amount of hypochlorite required to treat the water is generated in the slipstream and is then mixed to the full volume of ballast water.
During December, the US Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued the 14th Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System type approval certificate to Panasia Co., Ltd., for its GloEn-Patrol BWMS. The same month, the company received the 22nd application for the Semb-Eco LUV U1 Ballast Water Management System manufactured by Semb-Eco Pte, Ltd.
On November, the US Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued the 13th Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System type approval certificate to JFE Engineering Corporation, for its BallastAce BWMS.
On November, the USCG received its 21st application for type approval for the Cathelco Evolution Ballast Water Management System manufactured by Cathelco Ltd. On the 1st of November,the USCG received its 20th application for type approval for the Aquarius UV Ballast Water Management System, manufactured by Wärtsilä Water Systems Ltd.
On October, the USCG received its 19th application for the from DESMI Ocean Guard A/S. On the same month, the USCG received its 18th application for type approval for the NK-O3 BlueBallast II Plus Ballast Water Management System, manufactured by NKBMS Co. Ltd.
The 17th application was received in September for type approval for the NK-O3 BlueBallast II Ballast Water Management System, manufactured by NKBMS Co. Ltd.
So far, De Nora (USA), Panasia (Republic of Korea), JFE Engineering Corporation (Japan), Headway Technology (People’s Republic of China), Alfa Naval (Sweden), Hyundai Heavy Industries(Korea), Wärtsilä Water Systems (England), BIO-UV Group (France), Samsung Heavy Industries Co (Republic of Korea), Techcross (Republic of Korea), Optimarin (Norway), Alfa Laval (Sweden), TeamTec Ocean Saver (Norway), Sunrui (China), Ecochlor (USA) and Erma First (Greece) have won the USCG type approval.
