The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have revised the specified risk periods for some regions in 2022 regarding the Asian Gypsy Moth.
More specifically, as North P&I Club reports, only ships calling at ports in a high-risk area during 2022 will be held to the new dates. A summary of the existing 2021 risk periods and the risk periods from 2022 are:
What is more, New Zealand is also in the process of revising its Asian Gypsy Moth requirements to align with the US and Canada. These are expected to come into force in 2023.
Until then, New Zealand will enforce the risk periods listed in the below table:
