The North P&I Club has received information in relation to Libya’s ports (as of July 1st,2016). The Club advises operators to report their schedules (to local port agents) prior to arrival at any Libyan port, including a declaration of the vessel’s sailing route, whether they are loading or discharging cargo and the type of cargo on board, so that the agents can notify the appropriate authorities.

It has been reported that shipments of crude oil have resumed from Marsa el Hariga in eastern Libya after the country’s two rival administrations struck a deal on oil exports.
The Club also warns vessels to avoid navigating in the coastal waters of Benghazi, Derna and Sirte.
