SAFEEN Subsea, a part of AD Ports Group, has introduced “SAFEEN Green,” a remotely operated unmanned vessel (USV) designed to enhance marine surveys and inspections.
The vessel is controlled from an onshore Remote Operation Centre (ROC), employing advanced navigation and safety technologies to ensure secure operations. Operating on 100% renewable electric power or biofuel, SAFEEN Green produces only 10% of the emissions of a conventional vessel, significantly reducing its carbon footprint.
According to SAFEEN Subsea, its unmanned operation not only enhances safety by eliminating personnel risks but also features dual autopilots and comprehensive monitoring systems to ensure efficiency.
Captain Ammar Al Shaiba, CEO of the Maritime & Shipping Cluster, highlighted that the launch of SAFEEN Green marks a significant step towards sustainability and innovation in the maritime industry.
Meanwhile, Tareq Abdulla Al Marzooqi, CEO of SAFEEN Subsea, emphasized the vessel’s capabilities and its potential to support offshore EPC projects across various sectors, including oil and gas, wind farms, and deep-sea minerals.
Prior to its deployment in the UAE, SAFEEN Green underwent extensive trials in the North Sea, demonstrating its operational flexibility and readiness to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions for subsea tasks.
