On October 1, 2024, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) received two reports of attacks against commercial vessels sailing in the Red Sea.
The first report regards an incident occurring 64 nautical miles northwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen, where the Master of a vessel reported sighting four splashes close to their vessel. Fortunately, all crew members were safe, and the vessel was continuing its journey to the next port of call.

By 0612 UTC, UKMTO had received another update regarding the same incident. The Master reported that, at 0500 UTC, the vessel had been struck by an Uncrewed Surface Vessel (USV), resulting in a puncture to the number six port ballast tank. Despite this damage, the crew remained safe and the vessel continued to its next port of call.
Additionally, at 0754 UTC, UKMTO received a separate report of an incident occurring 97 nautical miles northwest of Al Hudaydah. The Master reported that the vessel had been attacked by a missile, resulting in damage to the vessel; however, all crew members were reported safe. Authorities continue to investigate this incident as well.

Overall, vessels are advised to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to UKMTO to ensure their safety in these waters.
