British terminal operator Peel Ports Group announced that it has acquired leading UK and Irish shipping company Quality Freight Limited for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will provide chartering and a variety of port services operating from a 40 acre multi modal facility at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
Mainly, Mark Whitworth, Peel Ports’ Group Chief Executive, commented that the Group aims to be a leader provider of port centric logistics solutions in the UK.
Also, he noted that the acquisition will provide an additional variety in the Ports’ services concerning stevedoring and storage services.
We are looking to drive additional volume through our infrastructure and the Quality Freight business model will allow us to deliver that objective.
In the meantime, Sebastian Gardiner, Managing Director of the business that will continue its trade under Quality Freight, noted that the acquisition will enable Quality Freight ot grow and explore its opportunities with existing and new customers.
