The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced that ten foreign flagged ship remained under detention in UK ports at the end of June after failing Paris MOU Port State Control (PSC) inspection.
Inspections of foreign flagged ships in UK ports are undertaken by surveyors from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. When a ship is found to be not in compliance with applicable convention requirements, deficiencies may be raised. Depending on the inspection findings, the vessel may be liable for detention in these cases.

The Liberia (white list) flagged vessel was found with eighteen deficiencies with four grounds for detention on 07 June 2024 at Newport (Gwent). This vessel was released 19 June 2024.
#2 ARAGONBORG
The Netherlands (white list) flagged vessel was found with seventeen deficiencies with three grounds for detention on 09 June 2024 at London. This vessel was released 14 June 2024.
#3 HG PERTH
The Liberia (white list) flagged vessel was found with fifty deficiencies with nine grounds for detention on 11 June 2024 at Newport (Gwent). This inspection was suspended. This vessel was still under detention 30 June 2024.
#4 BBG MASTER
The Liberia (white list) flagged vessel was found with sixteen deficiencies with one ground for detention on 13 June 2024 at Immingham. This vessel was released 16 June 2024.
#5 CEG COSMOS
The Latvia (grey list) flagged vessel was found with nine deficiencies with two grounds for detention on 14 June 2024 at Ayr. This vessel was released to a repair port 19 June 2024.
#6 SIGMA PIONEER
The Marshall Islands (white list) flagged vessel was found with twenty-three deficiencies with one ground for detention on 17 June 2024 at Liverpool. This vessel was released 30 June 2024.

The Antigua and Barbuda (white list) flagged vessel was found with seventeen deficiencies with one ground for detention on 18 June 2024 at Plymouth. This vessel was released 24 June 2024.
