Simultaneously, the command disclosed that two Navy personnel were reported missing at sea off Somalia, prompting an ongoing search.
At 03:45 local time on January 13, U.S. forces executed a strike on a Houthi radar site in Yemen, identified as a follow-up action targeting a specific military objective associated with previous strikes on January 12.
The second round of strikes occurred shortly after the Houthis vowed retaliation against the U.S. and Britain following the initial strikes. Despite the threats, they carried out a new attack on January 12, with reports indicating a missile explosion in the Gulf of Aden, approximately 90 nautical miles south of Aden, Yemen.
UK Maritime Trade Organizations classified these incidents as the seventh and eighth in 2024, following 24 incident warnings in 2023.
