Two fishermen lost their lives, while 15 were still missing on April 4, after their boat capsized following a collision with a bulk carrier in the Java Sea.
The rest crew of the fishing boat were evacuated and taken to hospital, Reuters reports. Both vessels carry the Indonesian flag.
After the collission, a body was found stuck in a fishing net, with another one being found in the vessel, 50 metres from the bulk carrier.
What is more, a huge search and rescue operation is taking place, with hundreds of rescuers, searching through the waters, Deden Ridwansah, head of Basarnas’ local Bandung office, informed.
As for the bulk carrier, there were no reports of casualties.
The cause of the collission is still under investigation.
