On 8th October, two cargo ships collided for an unknown reason 13 nautical miles west of Ikaria island.
According to the Port Authority, the two ships collided, while sailing in opposite directions.
The one is a Palau-flagged cargo ship with a crew of 21, while the other is a Marshall Islands-flagged vessel with a crew of 22.
Luckily, no injuries or water inflow reported so far.
As informed, until the damage is repaired and assessed by the monitoring classification organisation, both ships are anticipated to be temporarily barred from the open sea.
