The energy major Total recently entered the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping as a strategic partner, in order to accelerate carbon neutral shipping solutions and get to Net Zero.
To remind, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping is a collaboration by ABS, A.P. Møller – Mærsk, Cargill, MAN Energy Solutions, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, NYK Lines and Siemens Energy.
In fact, the research center is located in Copenhagen, Denmark and goals to promote and contribute to the decarbonization of the maritime industry.
Following Total’s entry, the company will join forces with leading players across the shipping sector in an effort to develop new low-carbon alternative fuels and carbon neutrality solutions.
As explained, this partnership is completely aligned with Total’s R&D marine fuels program towards net zero carbon emissions.
