Titan announced that it designed and developed the first LNG bunkering barge in Northwest Europe for the ARA (Amsterdam – Rotterdam – Antwerp) region: the Titan FlexFueler.
As explained, today, Titan owns two FlexFuelers, both with a 1,500 m³ capacity and 500 m3/h transfer rate, based in Amsterdam and Antwerp.
The innovative bunker barge navigates to LNG-powered seagoing vessels to safely supply LNG and BioLNG (LBM) while they load or unload their cargo (SIMOPS). It has fixed locations where bunkering can take place for seagoing vessels and inland waterway barges.
The FlexFuelers minimize costs and maximize operational efficiencies. They are the key to unlocking safe and quick LNG supply in the ARA region going forward as they are perfectly suitable to differentiate LNG & LBM physical streams.
Our ship-to-ship bunkering in Cuxhaven represents a pioneering step in the region’s LNG infrastructure development, as the port had previously only seen LNG operations conducted via truck and currently only permits LNG bunkering at one berth.
..the company said.
LNG infrastructure development is part of a broader trend, with more ports across Germany adopting LNG operations to support shipping’s clean fuels transition.
..the company added.
In July 2023, in collaboration with United European Car Carriers (UECC), Titan Clean Fuels spearheaded significant liquefied biomethane (LBM) bunkering operations at the Port of Zeebrugge.
Moreover, in June 2023, as part of its strategic expansion, Titan entered a long-term time charter agreement with Fratelli Cosulich for a cutting-edge LNG bunker vessel, named Alice Cosulich, boasting an impressive 8,200 cubic meter capacity.
