Hamburg Süd launched its new Remote Container Management (RCM) technology assisting their reefer container shipments, which will help customers keep track of their containers and their deliveries.
Specifically, the RCM monitors factors as temperature, relative humidity, and the concentrations of O₂ and CO₂ within the reefer container in real time.
Moreover, users will be able to monitor their supply chain, and make it more efficient and reliable.
When registration is done, customers will be able to receive a clear image of the reefer containers they have booked, additional to information on ports of departure and destination, container numbers and vessel names.
Through the technology customers are also able to check on the conditions within their containers.
Under the condition that critical limit values are exceeded or not maintained, Hamburg Süd’s operations team also receives an alarm notification so that they can take any measures necessary to safeguard quality of the cargo.
