According to local media, until now it is not known when the terminal will continue its operation, but the port authority informed that that it took all the necessary measures to prevent further damages and aims to restart operations in the docking facility as soon as possible.
It is not known what caused this incident. Nevertheless, a number of causes are being investigated, including the part of pilots, tugs that pulled the ship into the dock and the role of ‘STI Poplar’s’ captain and crewmembers.
Finally, as the unloading facility is closed, oil supply across Dalmatia is possible to experience problems, considering the fact that other ships will also have to wait for a solution in order to unload oil.
