The first uncrewed yacht vessel designed has been launched, based on new technologies and reducing the environmental impact of superyacht operations.

USCG Sector Key West reminded commercial and recreational vessels of 300 GT or more of the requirement to file a notice of arrival (NOA) with the USCG National Vessel Movement Center (NVMC) prior to arrival in the US.

On January 10, the Captain and crew of the M/V Sunda, recovered from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, a skipper along with a family of four members because of engine malfunction of their sailing boat. 

For pleasure yachts of less than 13.7 meters in length there are no statutory requirements for safety equipment other than those required under SOLAS V; whatsoever, safety equipment is an important part of boat preparation and it is advisable that all pleasure craft skippers check that their vessel is properly equipped.

The 85.95 metre  superyacht Ecstasea has been involved in an incident in Simpson Bay Lagoon, Sint Maarten. It is said that the Ecstasea itself has little damage, but the almost new bridge house was completely destroyed as it was dragged by an open tailgate.

The US Coast Guard is responding to a discharge of diesel after a fire erupted on two large boats at Seaview Harbor Marina in Great Egg Harbor, Monday morning. Watchstanders at USCG Sector Delaware Bay received the report of the vessel fires from local police dispatch at approximately 1:50 a.m.
