Watch: New lift record set as Johan Sverdrup field centre is completed

Three days were enough to lift four of the last pieces in the Johan Sverdrup puzzle into place, namely the two final platform topsides, a bridge and a flare stack. The processing platform lift was the heaviest lift ever performed offshore. The installation and completion phase offshore at Johan Sverdrup began with installing the jacket for the riser platform in August 2017.

World’s largest LNG supply vessel conducts bunkering operation in port of Visby

The world's largest supply vessel for LNG, named Kairos, conducted the first LNG bunker supply operation for the newbuild ferry MS Visborg at the ferry pier of the port of Visby. The bunker operation was signed by Nauticor and Destination Gotland in December 2017 and enables the ferry to run its service on LNG while connecting the Swedish mainland with the island of Gotland.

World’s biggest wind farm produces power

The turbine F18 is the first of the 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW units to be installed at the site some 120 kilometres offshore Yorkshire, UK, and the first to start producing power. The electricity that will be generated by the turbines will pass through one of the wind farm’s three offshore substations, before being transmitted by three high voltage subsea export cables, via a reactive compensation substation (RCS), to shore.
