The Global Maritime Forum has released a report which shares the results from a study conducted by the All Aboard Alliance in the Diversity@Sea initiative, identifying the 15 'key pain points'  for women at sea following an analysis of interviews with 115 women seafarers serving onboard.

The Seafarers’ Charity has announced funding for a new service aimed at supporting women seafarers who have experienced sexual trauma while working at sea.

Florence Schurch, Secretary General, Swiss Trading & Shipping Association (STSA) would like see Switzerland becoming a key partner in the IMO for sustainability and decarbonization issues. According to a Seafarers’ Charity recent report, women seafarers remain invisible and/or unintentionally overlooked by port-welfare workers. In that regard, the report provides eight (8) recommendations to port-welfare providers for consideration, with the aim to acquire a better understanding of women seafarers and their needs.

Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG) announced that, it has teamed up with the Women Offshore Foundation to award four scholarships to U.S. female maritime students.

IMO announced that seven IMO Member States have each nominated a candidate for the post of Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

As candidates for the top posting at the IMO must be submitted by the end of March 2023, speculations arise on who will be the next secretary-general of the organization, with Kenya's nominee Nancy Karigithu being a major participant in the race.
