The US Coast Guard is alerting mariners and the public to remain vigilant with the passage of Hurricane Florence and it strongly encourages everyone in the Coastal North Carolina region to heed the warnings and direction of local emergency response personnel.
The US Center for Disease Control issued a Travel Health Alert Notice regarding Measles outbreaks in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Pacific, noting that measles remains a common disease in these regions. CDC warned that anyone who is not protected against measles is at risk of getting infected when they travel internationally.
Due to increased activities of the Kick em’ Jenny Volcano, the alert level has been raised from Yellow to Orange, advised Grenada’s NaDMA through the technical support provided by the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Center. With this increase in the alert level, ships are asked to observe the exclusion zone of 5 km/3.1miles.
The US embassy in Mexico City issued a safety alert, prohibiting all US Government employees from using all tourist ferries on the route Cozumel-Playa del Carmen, Mexico, until further notice, due to two subsequent incidents involving explosive devices onboard, on 21 February and on 1 March.
