Ethylene export terminal to be developed in Houston Channel

Enterprise Products Partners and Navigator Holdings announced the execution of a letter of intent, to jointly develop an ethylene marine export terminal on the Houston Ship Channel. The ethylene export terminal would be connected to Enterprise’s ethylene salt dome storage and ethylene pipeline system, which is currently under construction.

New agreement signed on US Port Arthur LNG project

Sempra LNG & Midstream and Woodside Energy (USA), have signed a memorandum of understanding with Korea Gas Corporation regarding the development of the proposed Port Arthur LNG liquefaction project in Port Arthur, Texas. The MoU provides a framework for cooperation and joint discussion by the parties regarding key aspects of the Port Arthur LNG project.

Cheniere, KOGAS sign long-year LNG agreement

On 25 June, Cheniere Energy and KOGAS hailed the commencement of their 20-year Sales and Purchase Agreement, to supply U.S.-sourced LNG to KOGAS from the Sabine Pass Liquefaction facility in Louisiana. Under the terms of the SPA, Cheniere shall sell and make available for delivery to KOGAS approximately 3.5 million tonnes of LNG per year.

New LNG project to be developed in Gulf of Mexico

Delfin Midstream and Golar LNG have signed a Joint Development Agreement, to develop the Delfin LNG project, off the coast of Cameron Parish, Lousiana, utilising Golar’s FLNG technology. The joint development agreement is expected to facilitate the financing, marketing, construction, development and operation of Delfin LNG.

SEA\LNG announced the addition of three new members to the coalition. JAX LNG, Petronet LNG Limited, and Toyota Tsusho Corporation have joined SEA\LNG to support the coalition’s goal of creating the necessary confidence in the shipping sector to drive an effective and efficient global LNG value chain by 2020.

New bill requires 30% of LNG exports to travel on US-flagged vessels

A new US bill is introduced by Congressman Garamendi aiming at energizing American Maritime Act. This legislation is expected to improve American national security by requiring a percentage of exports of Liquefied Natural Gas and crude oil to travel on US-flagged vessels.

US natural gas exports to Mexico continue to grow

According to the US Energy Information Administration, U.S. pipeline exports of natural gas continued to grow in 2016, and they have doubled since 2009. Almost all of this growth is attributable to increasing exports to Mexico, which have accounted for more than half of all U.S. natural gas exports since April 2015.
