The Port of Seattle Commission approved a five-year capital development plan to invest $348 million. in order to improve the economic and environmental vitality of Seattle’s working waterfront. The 2019-2023 budget blueprint advances more than 20 key maritime and economic development projects.

Puget Sound Energy's LNG plant is still waiting for the final environmental impact statement, or EIS. This statement is necessary for the project to receive the air quality permit. This delay has pushed back the plant's launch by one year, from 2019 to 2020.

The US Senate has passed the Coast Guard Reauthorization bill 94-6, that provides several regulatory updates for the US fishing sector. Namely, the bill permanently exempts fishing vessels from EPA water discharge requirements. The bill also increased the size of new vessels that must be maintained to class standards.

The US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has prepared a draft environmental impact statement for the Jacksonville Project proposed by Eagle LNG. The company requested authorization to site, construct, and operate a LNG terminal and export facility on the north bank of the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida.

A China’s former trade negotiator has raised questions about the country's plan in the trade war with the US. According to Long Yongtu, who participated in China's entryn to the World Trade Organization, believes that the government made an error by immediately retaliating against US tariffs.
